Memoribilia Fuad Muhammad Syafruddin, No.2
70 x 100 cm,
Photography, Print on Paper,
5 Edisi + 1 Artist Proof.

This work is the result of an ongoing effort to digitize and preserve the belongings of the late Fuad Muhammad Syafruddin (Udin), a Bernas journalist who was murdered in 1996 after publishing a report on alleged corruption by the Regent of Bantul. Beyond his role as a journalist, Udin also ran a small photography studio—Studio Foto Kresna—in Bantul.

After his death, the items in his studio were confiscated by the police as evidence. Ironically, this act not only failed to bring justice, but also deprived his family of access to his personal legacy. In collaboration with several journalists, we have attempted to gather the remaining objects and digitally preserve them through scanning and reproduction.

As both a tribute and a reminder of a struggle still seeking justice, this work aims to care for memory. The archive is not only stored—it is activated, processed, and presented as a medium against forgetting.
