It is a long-term project that explores the connections between collective memory, transformed landscapes, political incidents and inherited violence through speculative archival methods to produce photographic works with drawings, montages images, and landscape photography, through this work I strive to interrupt the consciousness that has been silenced through propaganda and politically imposed everyday visual narratives.

I started to build the narrative of my work with the research titled Memory Landscape of 1965 in Semarang by Martijn Eickhoff, re-reading and reflecting then visiting the places mentioned in the journal one by one and then taking the present photo of the site. Mass graves of Gestok (30 October 65 movement), abandoned Islamic Sarikat building, third was a Chinese school (Karang Turi School)

I juxtaposed the marginalized history with contemporary landscape as new generation who inherited a violent trauma by Passing through the current atmosphere of urban life, with landscapes of factories, concrete motorways, coastal life threatened by floods, iron containers in the harbor while remembering the violence act before happen in that place. Momentary memories from family oral stories and re-reading the journals while traces of the present site are like waking up from a dream, a long dream, a collection of repressed desires and fictive visuals that lie between reality and fantasy, mixed with the control of being forgotten.

Far from condemning this project is a personal reconciliation, trying to assemble objects that have been cracked or even not found in normal consciousness to be reconstructed as materials to reduce the curse of history that always repeats itself.
